[Suggestion] Fluid Based Factions/Planets

One of the things that makes this game very unique (in the future) is the fluid simulation. With it, we are able to use fluid to our advantage, whether it is in combat or building, or incidentally when it comes to making boats or submarines.

My proposition is that we should definitely get two things: Fluid-based planets and factions.

Firstly, it makes sense that some planets would be either mostly or completely fluid-logged, with the best fluid in this case being water. Having an entire planet that leverages the new fluid system seems like it'd really open up a lot of possibilities. For example, we could have abandoned underwater research labs, full of loot, or large battlefields of forgotten ships that can be salvaged, or even a large underwater naval base, run by our enemies. The planet itself, while mostly water/fluid, would possibly still have sparse islands or even a layer of rock deep in the ocean, leading to secret bases hidden deep below the waves...

This is where a water based faction comes in. This faction could primarily focus on making ships that use these fluid mechanics, whether it be ships that float on the water, or even go underneath, taking control of other worlds' oceans (especially worlds made mostly of fluid/water). Not only would this flesh out the world a bit more, but there could even be special deposits under the water that require submarines or related ships to get (for example, ice deposits).

I think it'd be a travesty if we didn't have something like this in the game, because it makes a lot of sense, and allows players to have additional interesting pressures to think about, leading to a bit more creativity.

Imagine having a giant underwater trading hub with glass hallways leading between hangars holding ships, after water is removed in the chambers, allowing for a large underwater trade station (or even a military base). Enemy players could even try to drain the water around the base, exposing it to attacks, etc. I think that sounds really interesting.

You do know that Jar Jar was the supreme dark lord.

...Sounds like a good idea, though I think the term you're looking for is "Aquatic" to specify that the faction's primary area of operation is the water. "Fluid-Based Factions" sounds like the mob set up shop on Arrakis to sell water to people after it all mysteriously went missing.

Did that happen in Tank Girl as well?

I wanted to leave it a bit more ambiguous in case they decide to use a liquid other than water.

... I also forgot about Aquatic being a word :P
