Walk through rotor

A large strong motorised rotor with tubular axle around a corridor leaving stationary mount point at both ends along the axle centre.

The rotational part is effectively a ring around the body of the rotor.

Both people and conveyors should be able to pass through the axle corridor.

Not sure if conveyors should be able to pass goods into the ring part or not.

Uses - The Bebop, large turrets, colony ships, centrifuge, amusement rides, mech hip to torso

6cbfba5332920cb0f3130c02aa17fa5cHow about a Slewing Drive functional block that can make Orbital rings possible.

They are hollow so you can fly/pass through and allow the inner or outer ring to spin.

  • Small ones could be used for robotics and mechs

OR

  • Shipyard Welding Rings

OR

  • Ship solar array alignments without splitting the ship up in weird ways.

OR

  • If we had the components (i.e. curved gears and screw/worm gear) they would be big enough for stations.

Oh yes and it would have conveyor access.

This is great and I get to learn new things.

If it has taken 10,000 years to get to the Almagest system, do I really have to wait another 990,000years until this rotor is in vanilla SE2?

Something of a decent size would be preferred, or a system to build a huge one with parts to make it spin smoothly.

Or alternatively you could have a rotor that has a door on either end which would essentially teleport you to the other side. This could be done if you wanted to avoid any collision or physics shenanigans.
