Soft Terrain

It would be amazing if different types of terrain could have different hardness, and if certain terrain could deform under wheels. If you really want to 10X the experience, having the tires be soft bodies and have really detailed interaction with the terrain something like the mudrunner games would be even better. Probably less exaugurated than mudrunner, but a lite version of that would be cool.

The engine already has difference in voxel density between materials, crashing into rock vs sand has a massive differences.

what your looking for is cosmetic terrain deformation, and that would be nice,

Hi Developers!

Following discussions about vehicle dynamics, I'd like to suggest a counter-oriented thrust/power subsystem for Space Engineers 2. This system would simulate the effects of movement through challenging environments (swamps, water, wind, etc.).

Implementing this would:

  • Add significant depth to vehicle design.
  • Require players to engineer solutions that directly counter environmental forces.
  • Expand gameplay possibilities considerably.

I believe this would be a valuable addition to SE2. Thanks for considering it.

With the current method of construction of the wheels and axles of the chassis, this is unthinkable.
