Extendable walkways/doorways & connector airlocks

(I have done a brief search for these ideas so forgive me if I overlooked a post I never found)


So the idea of the first one is, to have walkways that extend and they are often used as boarding bridges onto other ships. To go into detail, you have the inside door one one end which functions as normal, and the other end, you have this extendable walkway bridge that the door can open on the other end with or without extending it.


The second idea is a current SE1 mod that's on the workshop, called the AQD (A Quantum Depth) Airlock connectors by enenra & BDCarillo. The function of these would be as the mods describe, able to add connectors to airlocks but able to create an airtight seal between ships although as it says, unable to transfer items between conveyors but power.

I can't edit, but to further iterate on the walkway, there could be a two variations available, both 2,5m An open walkway and an enclosed one with a minimum extension length of 3 metres all the way to 20 metres. Although this is still keeping in mind that the end of the bridge will be thinner so it can fold in on itself,


The enclosed one can have 2 versions, a windowed and non windowed, both would behave the same but to craft, in terms of SE1, the properly enclosed would need more steel vs the window needing more glass to build.

With the open one having the same design as the existing catwalks


& The behaviour for both would be the same as how a piston operates in SE1

Stations and Ships would have a nice aesthetic and function to have actual Docking Port Bulkhead doors that also act as connectors.

Having a people door and cargo door option would be beneficial.
