Greetings Team Keen Software House,

My name is Paul, and I have been a long-time fan of Space Engineers, playing since nearly its release. Naturally, I’m very interested in the upcoming Space Engineers 2. So I'm following the current status of SE2 and am excited to see what the game can become.

I’ve had a lot of fun with the game Space Engineers 1 so far, but as I look ahead, I’d like to take this opportunity to provide some feedback that could help improve its successor.

I’ve categorized my suggestions, and while some are specific feature requests, others are more general ideas to enhance certain aspects of the game, making the gameplay loop more engaging and fulfilling.

Movement & Controls

-Dynamic Movement Speed: Movement should feel natural by gradually building up speed to prevent oversensitivity.

-Grappling Hook: Players should have the ability to latch onto surfaces or objects using a tethered hook.

-Cruise Control & Power Output Slider: Option for an autopilot-like cruise control and a fine-tunable power output slider for precise flight control.

Building & Construction

-Custom Grid Names for Blocks: Allow naming individual blocks within a grid, while placing for better organization (automatic ship name to blocks or something in this direction).

-Directly Weld & Detach Blocks: Ability to connect or separate blocks without destroying them.

-Atmospheric Drag Effects: Ships and players should experience atmospheric resistance (e.g., heating on re-entry). In early-game, high-speed flight in the atmosphere should be limited.

Survival & Resource Management

-Enhanced Survival Mechanics: Realistic needs for food and water, plus early warnings for low suit fuel.

-Hose Connection for Welding: Players should be able to attach a hose to a cargo block or resource supply to automatically pull materials while welding.

-Fluids as Resources: Liquids should be transferable and manageable like items through pipes and conveyors.

-Real AI Animals: Rare, living wildlife that can serve as a food source or environmental hazard.

Inventory & Production

-Quick Inventory Dump Keybind: A customizable hotkey to quickly empty the inventory with the ability to choose which items are stored.

-Crafting Overhaul: A multi-stage production system (similar to like Satisfactory), where raw materials are processed into components and then into final products—mostly automated with more overall control of ship inventories.

Blueprints & Projections

-Improved Blueprints: Subgrids should be correctly recognized and displayed in projector blocks.

Other:

-Customising the Character to some degree with different type of suits with maybe different smaller abillities

-Overclocking ship components and maybe cooling as a result?

these are some ideas I had while thinking about certains aspects at the game and I hope this will find some interest, because I especially like the survival aspect of the game in hopes to make it even better.

Best regards

Paul
