suit only survival start

A great feature to add would be a suit crafting and forging. Like a portable crafting module that takes a long time to craft things and a portable electric furnace module that smelts your materials but only gives a miniscule amount in return. In the settings you can change the values. Suit batteries and other modules. So it would make the suit only start more doable in deep space.
I believe that is the plan mentioned already. I think it will be a little like 'No man's sky' and 'Empyrion'.

I think they already announced that your suit will be able to perform rudimentary processing and assembly but at a slower pace than the Survival Kit.

Marek called it Backpack Building if I recall. Not sure I'm a fan of the idea but we will see how it goes. Perhaps they implement it in a really cool way that keeps it from being cheesy like it is in most games. The early building and crafting loop in SE is so much more gratifying than games like Empyrion oflr NMS. At least to me.

In that case, the ability to carry small block assemblies in the backpack, or at least blocks up to some size, would come in handy.
In SE1, I was always annoyed by the inability to take a courier probe ("unknown signal xxx") to camp and use its parts for something useful...

Well, it could be like the survival kit, it can only build very simple stuff, with that stuff then you need to build a "survival kit" (or what ever block in SE2 will came here at next step) to come further and be able to build ships. So maybe backpack building is limited to stuff to build you a simple station (armor blocks), solar panels/wind turbines, a "survival kit" and maybe some simple stuff you need for repairing damaged blocks. And of course a simple refinery which can get materials out of "stone" like it can a survival kit in SE1, but slower and more simple materials.
But there is too much "like it all was in SE1" thinking in it, SE2 could be so different in some parts, that this thinking makes not much sense in the end.
