HUD Suggestions

While I'm sure the HUD is bound to change anyways I would just like to give some input on my thoughts on the flaws of the current HUD. Firstly it is all clustered mostly on the left side of the screen unlike the HUD in the first game and other HUDs which had boxes both on the left, right, and middle, currently it feels lopsided and reminds me of when a game is set to the wrong display size and everything shifts inwards. And while this is a matter of personal preference I preferred the stats when they had sideways bars and fewer increments, 4ths instead of 20ths. But I do enjoy the change to the display of the characters speed and believe it could work both horizontally and vertically.
I also think that the floating numbers like the gravity and PCU amounts look odd being unconnected to any sort of box of background. Along with the boxes for the currently selected boxes just floating together it overall just doesn't feel very good to look at or to play with. The first game's HUD felt like it was part of a space suit or a ship, something that existed diegetically.
Several HUD layouts could work well, spread out all over the bottom, clustered in the middle, all on the sides or even the top. So I think a method where players could customize to some degree where their HUD pieces go would be ideal like being able to totally disable the PCU numbers, or move them to the other side of the screen if they wanted to, that or easy modding support for the HUD. Because currently it is what stands out to me the most as the least favorite part of this Alpha.
