I hope Keen Software House adds on SE2 something like welding pads in Advance Welding, flat blocks similar to panels where you take two grids with a welding pad each and paste them together by alligning them without merge blocks. It would make the who construction of modular pieces way better AND you could repair grids by pasting parts back without too much extra materials or grinding the whole section that came off and welding every block back.
It could also help on the PCU, since these could be light-weight and disappear upon contact of one another. A visual queue on the HUD would be essensial just like in the aforementioned mod to match the positioning of these aside of grid alignment.
