paint gun is crap; improve it or just use what's in SE1 (for now)
It's so funny to have painting as a "tool" in a toolbar but not a separate function, it's difficult to use and there are already several drawbacks with this "design":
1. I can't switch color easily, especially before placing blocks. I must switch to paint gun first, then open the menu, then click the color, but in SE1 it's either press P or just rotate with [ and ] and boom that's it. Why is it much more complicated, just for a cursor?
2. Why no symmetrical painting??
3. Why is painting size set to only single, 2m or 5m? 2m is already too big for detailing (eg. penetrating only one block deep), this should be customizeable.
Although this is none of my business, I guess it's a design for console to utilize rotation menu? or painting requires "ammo" in survival (wtf????)
In my mind this painting tool is just a complete downgrade, plz just change it back to what we got in SE1, or address those problems soon enough.
I mean, at least take paint gun out of the toolbar and bind it to P, other problems are yet tolerable but not this one

I much prefer the Paint Gun implementation, especially knowing where it is headed based on the SE mod that was so well received. The SE vanilla paint controls are horrible in my opinion (and apparently to many others considering the popularity of the paint gun). I agree that paint options (color, texture, etc) should be base selectable using a hotkey and menu (P for example) and then applied to the gun and every new block placed.
They have stated that the current need to go to the gun to select color for newly placed blocks is temporary and being resolved.

You have to know this is Alpha, like the first release.
Yes, I agree with 1. and 2. points but you don't need to be so explosive about it. They are gathering info to know what we don't like and what we do. Paint Gun is and is going to be a big upgrade. give them time... usually, when games are released they are in beta that is when the game is mostly completed... this is Alpha when a game just barely works. It is more of a demo release...
