Add "Convert To Station" Mode for Creative Building
Not Enough Votes
Currently, if you are building a ship/grid in Space Engineers 2 and it is NOT attached to a Station In Voxel, your grid can float away if knocked out of place. Yes, you can copy and paste it back into position, but this is a bit of a pain.
Space Engineers One has "Convert To Ship" or "Convert To Station". I'd like to see this option brought back for Space Engineers 2 - Mainly in Creative Mode, to aid in building here in Space. Once we get to things like Rotors, Pistons and Hinges, I think this will be even more vital to have for creative mode building.

I like this feedback
I tried to convert floating grids and subgrids to stations by extending them into the ground. But any blocks intersecting with the ground refuse to be added.
There is an asymmetry here: We convert a stationary grid into a floating one by removing blocks connecting it to the ground, but the reverse operation is not possible.
I tried to add a "curved" track segment to a rail track trough a hinge to allow me placing it at a precise angle. This works so far, but my idea was to then anchor this new track segment to the ground through a pillar and then to remove the hinge. But the last steps do not work.
