Need More Information

No New Game will start. All crash with "Loading failed \n World could not be loaded. See log for details." And of course, you don't provide a hint or link where to find the logs. Despite that:

Log files are located at: %appdata%\Roaming\SpaceEngineers2\Temp\Logs <--should be added to the error message.

This problem appears to have been resolved by TWICE validating the installed files AND finally uninstalling and reinstalling. I made no changes to my system or configuration. Logic tells me that the validations failed where a full uninstall and reinstall of SE2 worked.

That said, as horrible as the key binding situation is, I think you probably would have preferred that my experience stopped at the "Loading failed" place. This because I then discovered your human->computer (UI) is entirely unplayable without the ability to remap keys. This is not a preference issue it is an accessibility issue -- but the key-binding issue is well documented and voted upon elsewhere.

Put yourself in my shoes, it was epically broken, fixed, and then discovered to be unplayable. That is a disappointment that cuts deep.

Bruh, they started by telling us key binding was currently locked and would be opened up later.

Also, this is an ALPHA version of the game, Alpha means still building the fundamental framework and ready for Internal testing, so we are lucky they are even giving us access. Beta testing is where the game is mostly complete and they are fixing issues, right now they are just building the fundamentals. Please keep in mind Alpha builds of a game break more often than they work so expecting it to launch without issue is.... overly optimistic.

Glad you were able to fix the initial fail state though.

i had same problem, fixed it by updating drivers and moving graphics down to medium

game would crash everytime i try to load facility world and in empty world it crashed the instant i got to close to a voxel

@Mathew, thank you for pointing out the obvious and conflating it with nonsense. I'll discharge the key binding issue because I already know I was being pithy and dog-piling in my follow-up. Your point regarding alpha and breaking, duh! Also irrelevant rhetoric. You saw what you wanted to see, instead of the facts. I took the time to report the problem and my observation of the problem and the overly simplistic error message. I then went further to research the problem myself and find the necessary logs and share them with Keen. Finally, I followed up with my own findings and a simplified explanation of my solution. The actual facts seem to have eluded you as you apparently got triggered by my tone or word choices and felt compelled to project your opinions about my tone on this thread. I'm glad you were able to fix me though.

@Wufei, brilliant mate. It is very helpful and uplifting to know that similar failure messages may have different causes and multiple solution paths. Our two solutions should help Keen establish some troubleshooting steps for others to try. :) Thank you, sincerely.

Okay dude I was trying to politely remind you that many of issues exist and will continue for some time and that your tone was a bit much. But fine you be that way, no skin off my nose if you want to be a wanker.

When verifying files through steam, steam tends to check its download cache vs the files it's supposed to have, rather than the actual files on the hard drive vs the files it's supposed to have.

Another option you could try is to delete steam's download cache first, and verify the game files after that. That will force steam to verify the files on the hard drive vs the files it's supposed to have, as it will no longer have its cache available.

It's a method used when patching or whatever has ended up with some corrupted files for whatever reason. Steam misses those during file verification because its cache says all files were successfully obtained the first time around.

This could explain why verifying the files twice didn't do a thing, while uninstalling/reinstalling did the trick.

Epic Fail? really, what year is this 2010.

2010? That alone suggests I'm older than your parents. Have a nice day.

That's around when it fell off as a popular phrase, maybe more 2014. Also have a nice day dosent make a crude age related juxtaposition any nicer. Anyways Have a nicer day.

??? I also got this error when I first tried to load the game. I exited, verified the game files, it found one and fixed it. Then things worked.

I assumed it was just a download error on my end, so I didn't bother reporting anything.
