Blueprint Folders Solution to Clutter

My Idea is a Follows, the Blueprint screen is going to rapidly become cluttered with random Engine Pods and Corridors so my Solution is to Create a Folder system in the Blueprint Screen. i do not know how this will look but my idea is to just copy the Windows File Storage System ie a file icon with a name like Engine Pods, then one could chuck blueprints into the folder

I recommended something similar to this on steam before I realized I should be posting here, so Ill ad my thoughts to this!

You can drag and drop an entire folder of blueprints to your hotbar the same way you can with individual blueprints, which would then work the same as the basic blocks that have lots of variants, so you can scroll to change between the different blueprints in a single folder.

The other thought was to add a tag system in addition to the folder system where you can manually tag your blueprints with whatever keywords you want, then in the blueprint screen, you would be able to select an include and exclude list of tags allowing you to ignore big chunks of your blueprints at a time using whatever criteria you want rather than having to hope whatever sorting criteria that's built in happens to work for your needs :)

100%. I thought this and had to come leave the feedback. My SE1 Blueprints are a damn mess. I can't find things I need at times. Giving us a way to hierarchically organize blueprints will be vital. Especially because this feature seems to be something Marek likes very much and wants in the game. If I have to scroll through 100 blueprints to find the one I want, it'll be exhausting and inefficient.


I'll say also adding tags to blueprints so I can add (e.g) #Fighter or #Miner or #BaseItem to the tags to further sort and filter things, that would be epic! Thanks Keen.

Factorio's ability to scroll through blueprint folders in your hotbar is very useful

could be made similar to the se1 block in hotbar mechanic where you can use mouse wheel to swap between blocks but instead swap between subfolders of blueprints(e.g. A sub folder[Supports 0.25] could be in your hotbar and you could sort through the contents, of different supports in this case)
