Create a Female Character Model

Not Enough Votes

Currently there is only the default Male character model and I did not find a way to select others.

I very much prefer to play a Female model.

While I understand it was not priority in the Alpha stage it is still a very basic feature I would expect every game with a player to have.

Please add a female character model and a way to choose between male and female.

In my case it is almost a necessity since I am a Trans Woman and feel very uncomfortable playing a male one.

My partner who is also Trans Female even said she would not buy the game without that feature.

As Johanna said, I understand that an alpha demoes only one of each kind (one thruster type, one planetary body type, one cockpit type, one character animation), and a second character option is possibly scheduled for later. Since in SE1, it was kinda _very much_ later, we want to bring it up early for SE2 so you know that there is interest in this feature. :-) Thanks!

They have stated in one of the streams that a female engineer model is coming.

I would like to add that it would be nice to be able to customize the faces.

I agree Amanda.

I would be statisfied with Just a simple female one since I expect custumization would be a big effort and I prefer the development Go into more Blocks and survival First.

After Multiplayer they can work custom models.

Its clear why there is only a male character model in it so far. One reason is that when they need to make changes on the character model (physics counts as well) it would be a lot more work if they need to do that changes all time on two models. One character saves resources (time and with that money). Second is of course, that the majority of SE players is mainly male. So we have now only a male instead only a female character model.

SE1 got the female character also much later in early access. I hope they can do it much fast in SE2 since thanks to SE1 the playerbase on SE2 is already much bigger and so the need for a female character is much higher.

But anyway, I would vote that in any case. I'm for options... so, yeah, I also love character editors. Customizing the face would be great and with the more details male character face now I would guess they will do at least a simple one. Especially in multiplayer it is a bit strange when all look like clones. :D
