Give us the option

Give us the option to use the SE1 controls and key binds as they are far far better than the SE2 ones currently in use ,keep do and undo they are handy as hell but for our sanity let us use the old controls and the ability to re map as we liked as this a big part in why SE1 is so good( 5000 houres on SE1) and 92mins play today was enough for me today thats with the 8 game ending crashes.so please give us the option to use the old controls.
Whilst SE2 is in alpha many players will be constantly switching between SE1 and SE2.
Having ideas in SE1 and then seeing if it works in SE2.
The SE2 block placement controls are a bit awkward at the moment,
After all of the hours that I have put into SE, using the SE1 rotation controls is no longer a problem with the exception of the occasional miss-press of Print Screen.
The only real issue with old SE1 block rotation and is how the rotation keys swap around according to the relative angle of placement and how that changed the rotation of the block in repeated placement.

Honestly, I haven't had too many problems with the controls for block rotation. i'm usually able to quckly rotate the block into the exact orientation I need. The only problem with it I've had so far is that pressing control to use it, and then wanting to move around has resulted in many copy actions.

To be honest the controles arent bad unless you try to move scrole block rotation and place blocks quilckly then its just not posible thist is the first game I have played where charicter movement keys are also bound to other actions ,no way are you going to be able to repair a ship quickly in or out of combat ,will just wait to see if the keys binds can be changed in later updated till then I wont be playing it, shame but i will just keep playing SE1 .

Regarding the precision controls for block rotation and placement, I much prefer the SE2 implementation. I just wish there was an option to toggle precision mode. I believe most of the individual user issues with control schemes, however, can be addressed by robust rebind support, which is planned. For context, I have nearly $k hours in SE1 so very familiar with that system as well.

You have 5000 hours using the old controls and at max 4 days using the new. No way you have given it a fair comparison. The old SE1 controls use buttons not all keyboards have or, on smaller board, have them placed almost randomly around the keyboard. I find the new way far easier to use even if my old muscle memory for SE1 controls does kick in sometimes.

Sorry but I find it strange to bind movement keys to other functions like block placement a tad strange and how the hell do I press the CTRL key when moving when I dont have a NAFFING LITTLE FINGER on my not using the mouse hand.

All I wanted was the abillity to change between new and legasy controls or rebind the keys whats wrong with that?

why have you tried to reinvent the wheel with corners on it.... you'll be in for a bumpy ride
Just give us key binding options and we can pick our own keys
Ten years of muscle memory on pressing certain keys cannot be changed overnight

New game, new chance to make things better. Arguing directly against changes because it was different in the first game didn't help at all.
I never liked that I need to move my hand to rotate blocks. That is MUCH better in SE2 now. But it is not perfect yet, it need some finetuning, than it is way better as in SE1. But then want to have the SE1 controls even when they are worse only because you are used to it, is not a good argument. If we would be like that on all stuff we would still live in caves.
But anyway, I'm near always for options, so custom key bindings would be anyway great to have. It makes only following guides much more difficult when you changed too much.

so sick of this I made one comment about controls and now its chance for evety tom dick and harry to say why the new key binds are better. Fine. Last point before blocking this site 10 years of muscle memory that coverd 100's of games wont go away in a few months and not haveing a little finger on my left hand makes it alnost imposible and bloody difficult to press CTRL and any other key with my left hand at the same time .NOW DO YOU GET IT.
