Compass and planetary clock.
Under Consideration
When planets will be available in the game, it would be very useful to introduce a compass and a planetary clock.
Like in this mod for SE1.
They could be displayed together or separately on the screen, or work similar to the horizon script in SE1.
How does the clock work?
Does the time depend on you being located on the planets surface?
Would the planet have some equivalent of UTC?
If the planets had different day lengths would the clock show more or less hours?
And then there is Global GPS, local GPS, latitude and longitude.
I would like a device that could tell if I was above or below the planetary orbital plane, and a solar system compass that would confirm where 0x,0y,0z would be.
I think UP is dependant on which direction the sun is moving on the spiral arm.
My apologies for over thinking this. I will vote.

A positioning system is also built into the SE (1). You can determine your position in 3D space with high accuracy at any time. The problem is to determine the position on the surface of the planet in traditional longitude and latitude.
The time system is also "built-in" in SE (1), as the game allows you to set the length of the day and implements the alternation of lighting, day and night, by continuously orbiting the image of the sun around the game space.
The problem is that this "universal time" is not directly available to the player, and I haven't yet seen a plugin that can retrieve it, convert it to hours and minutes, and display it.

A compass would be useful and if a local time would be too complicated, a time until sunset/sunrise would do me.

Aforementioned modification to SE1 works quite well even on the Moon as well as on custom planets.
It displays compass, UTC and local time, so I think something similar should also be possible in SE2.

Compass has forever been an essential QoL mode for SE1 for me, so yeah, absolutely.
Also, "local time" as in, based on the day/night cycle would absolutely be good, especially for those "Is the sun about to rise, or should i burn that last bit of hydrogen to make power." moments.
