Jumpgate server Multiplayer

First off, I want to say how much I love this game. It’s an incredible experience, and I’m constantly amazed by what the game offers.

I’m particularly excited about the potential for multiplayer improvements in SE2, but I haven’t seen much information yet about whether the multiplayer experience will be enhanced. If there are plans for improvement, I’d like to suggest an idea that could make the multiplayer aspect even more dynamic and engaging.

Would it be possible to implement a system for creating jump gates that allow players to travel between servers? This could establish an interconnected network of systems, where players can navigate through various servers to explore new areas or engage with others. I imagine this might be challenging to develop, but it could open up amazing possibilities for cooperative and competitive gameplay.

Alternatively, a simpler system inspired by ARK could work, where players use a gate to select a server to jump to directly. This might be easier to implement and still allow for inter-server interactions, such as going to war with players on other servers or forming alliances.

I know this is a complex feature, but I believe it could make the multiplayer experience truly next-level. Thank you for considering this idea, and I’m looking forward to seeing how SE2 evolves!

I would also like to see this, this is definitely next level and would differentiate SE2 from SE1, giving folks options to extend gameplay. to further suggest how this could work and some of the benefits if implemented.

  • It would allow for spreading creations/PCU load across servers, potentially reducing individual server impact
  • If you hit a jumppoint and the server your connecting to your PCU limit has been reached the jumppoint could deny your request to jump (negative ghost rider, the pattern is full)
  • Jumps transfer ship between servers, transferring PCU during jumppoint animation
  • Each server could handle portions of the overall SE universe (SE Galaxy).
  • allowing servers with different mods could allow for different gameplay/variations in the same universe. (mods load during jumppoint animation)
  • Would probably need the option for protected zones around jumppoints.
