Please add a bounce function similar to what's in se1 but instead of it going through the block it bounces off of the face it hits if a sufficient angle has been used

This would be an awesome addition to the game and add more tactical planning and play to how space battles are fought.

Must have this!!!

we can call it the space thunder mechanic XD would be awesome if its combined whit a mechanic that non deformable blocks can eighter bounce or brake but it might be a bit recource heavy but if the game could spit out a degree value of the impact whitout much fuzz modders could do some crazy things whit it

SE1's ricochet-mechanics are cool, but the system in general would need to be a lot more complicated if every shot they had to figure out if the angle and material thickness was appropriate to safely deflect a round (no damage), gouge some armor and deflect (some damage), or blow through either without deflection or with only partial deflection. I like the idea, but if it gets us other stuff sooner to either drop the ricochet mechanic or port over SE1's version then I'd be content to leave it for some future expansion.

I wonder how hard it would be to add angles of Deflection to the game. it would totally be a good mechanic. that and bullet caliber can only damage certain thicknesses or types of armor. Sure everything can go through one layer of light armor plate, but what about 3? Or how about one plate of heavy vs 3? what about composites/alloy armor? I guess it would develop its own meta.
