Better GPS solution instead of only an cheap interface
I was never a fan of this GPS system in SE1. It felt like a cheap solution that didn't match very good into the game as it was introduced into it in early access and it also brought up problems.
For example before we had GPS we had already antennas. If you really want to mark a place because it was important enough for you, you build a small station with an antenna, a battery and solar panels.
With the GPS feature introduced into SE1 you can literally mark any interesting point easily with a GPS marker, no resources needed, you simply create one in the interface by a button. But why is this not a real gameplay feature and so cheaply made?
I would prefer to have a real GPS gameplay feature in SE2, like a GPS computer and/or datapads with GPS points on it. So you could have for example a pad with GPS coordinates with only gold ore points on it. Or a other solution (or a combination of it) like only seeing GPS points in cockpit or the view distance in suit only is very much reduced. There are so many possibilities to include that better as it was in SE1.
I really don't want to see the same solution as in SE1 only with some QoL stuff. I want to see a much better solution that makes more sense for such a game.
GPS coordinates could also be shown on an extra functional block over an LCD screen. Like a space map block instead inside the players screen.
