Customizable undo/redo step count
Not Enough Votes
I assume the steps use RAM so people with more RAM can take advantage of it by increasing the amount of possible steps they have, and people with less RAM can limit it to decrease usage. It can also be set to use X% or X MB/GB of RAM.
Say I did a bunch of minor changes. Now I've lost access to any major changes I've previously made to my ship. I have to think more efficiently in terms of placement and deletion when building, or copy certain moments before a major change happens, or make chunks away from the main build that I then add in. Just to preserve my steps.

You can also save the Blueprint in phases then just overwrite/delete previous phases when they're no longer needed. I did this all the time in SE1 since we had no undo. I'd often save them as Ship v0.1, Ship v0.2, etc. (Janky solution but an option without having to clutter your work area with duplicates of your ship)
