Now that ray-tracing is a thing, it would be amazing to allow for windows to have a shade/tint, it would give a lot of creative possibilities. Perhaps "energy based" textures can also be applied, giving it a more tech/alien look or circuitboard-like lines crawling over it like forerunner glass in Halo.
In SE1 windows had a tinted side and a... well, nothingness side that had a clear view. Would be cool to allow more options.

I was really sad when I realised window tinting was gone. I hope it will make a comeback with a separate set of windows, tint/no tint/double sided tint.
Another amazing feature would be if tint could be 'paintable' too. (Choose tint colouration).
For now though, I just miss my blue tint windows with white blocks... sigh

Even if it's just glass and windows being customized with different colors with the paint gun it would be amazing.
