An addition that adds a GPS ranging function to an existing camera.

This device will add a ranging dot to the centre of the camera view and display a range up to 4km away.

It will also allow a snapshot copy of the approximate GPS of the focused position and record it as a map entry.

The device will allow a scout to capture details of a target in the distance.

It would be useful to be able to share the GPS over the comms network.

The developers' reaction was clear: archiving the topic.

Under the search 'rangefinder' I get 3 hits.

Only 1 mentions reporting a GPS, and it is one of 3 ideas mentioned on that post.

I'm sure that I have read others too, but they are not coming up in search.

I have made this post as a more specific idea in that it is a supporting device for a camera and does not function on it's own.

I would like to think that there could be other supportive devices for the camera in the future which could offer other feature enhancements.
