This block would not be able to supply power, it would only charge battery modules.
It can be set to use excess power generation when available.
It could automatically move batteries with charge below 100% from containers connected to it, into a charge slot.
Once a battery is charged, it could free up the charging slot and send the charged battery module back to a container.

For mobile and “off-grid” devices, a unit with the opposite function would be useful—you insert a charged portable battery, and within a few seconds or minutes, the unit transfers electrical energy to the device’s battery. You then remove the discharged portable battery and can reuse it.
The portable battery could be functionally similar to an oxygen or hydrogen pressure canister.
