5.25m Drill Needs Bigger Range
When you are trying to create a drill head with the 5.25m drills, they cannot be easily or intuitively placed close enough together to make an efficient drill head. If you use standard placement distances to align them in a row, the gaps between the drills are too large and leave gaps in the area that you are trying to mine, preventing you from going more than surface deep. Even when you place small drills between the heads, it still leaves voxels outcroppings that prevent your ship from smoothly boring through. 3.5m and 5.25m drill heads don't seem to function very well together in general, with them seemingly not mining more than a meter or so deep. My suggestion is that they either receive a small hit box so that they can be place closer together, or they drills themselves receive a mining area boost so that their mining range overlaps better
I like this feedback
I could not agree more. Mining with large drill heads right now is so painful due to the large hit box, small mining radius, and low output. A small grid miner works better right now, which is crazy.

You can put them at 2m apart in a row, and keep this same 2m distance to the next row as long as you offset the drills. Don't place them in a square. However, this is an extremely tight fit and also the only option to make them work, which takes the creative ability out of the picture. I agree, the large drills should have a longer range to allow for more freedom in custom drill head designs. With current limitation, even using small drills to fill the gaps between the large drills, it's very difficult to find a layout that actually works.

I agree. I have a drill array 6 across 4 high, and they are placed as close together as the system will allow, but when using them, It's slow going because bits get left, and i spend a ton of time wiggling it back and forth to try and remove the obstructions.
