Hinges not transferring cargo

Hello, I found in my current game that Large Hinges do not create a cargo transfer connection. Interestingly, when a hinge is built on a cargo container, I can draw items from the container when opening the hinge head inventory. But when a piece of conveyor is added, and further containers, those are not connected to the base crate.

(On a side note: I can open inventory from a T junction conveyor, but not from a straight one.)

This makes erectable drill rigs lose functionality, as they require manual emptying, the minerals won't transfer to the vehicle. Rotors, however, work as they did in SE1. Pistons also transfer cargo correctly. It must be an oversight in hinges.

The game is still in its alpha stage, so there are many bugs and incomplete features. Hinge blocks were only recently added to the game, so not all of their functionality has been implemented yet. This isn't limited to hinges either—many of the other newly added blocks are also still missing features and are actively being developed.

Same situation for Fuel. A thruster directly on a hinge does work. Put a conveyor between, and the thruster does not work anymore.

Version: v2.3.0.2798 Release Alpha (Public Steam)

Here are steps to reproduce this:

  1. build a cargo on a powered base (yellow)
  2. build a 2.5m hinge on one of it's conveyor ports
  3. build a small cargo container on the hinge part (red)

  • expected result - yellow container is accessible from the red container
  • actual result - it is not accessible

note 1: yellow cargo is accessible from the hinge part

note 2: adding a piston directly on the hinge part fixes this bug and cargo is accessible throughout the entire subgrid chain as expected
