Specialed station installations

The current stations are general purpose and offer a standardised set of facilities.

The other installations are there to give the impression of inhabitation and to provide some ready made resources.

Once a sector has reach advanced colonisation additional dedicated station installations could offer specialised service for the player to interact with. This may be relevant when the availability of service at standard stations is limited. This mainly applies to commerce but could be other services too.

Specialised installation stations would have a grid build to reflect their purpose.

The specialised stations would also carry the finances and goods for trading far beyond that of the trade terminals found at standard stations.

The stations would also have regular cargo transports running on routes to other stations.

(So NPC cargo ships would need a full, without error, docking system, to transfer shipments:)

Players could trade with these stations normally, but would deal in item quantities and credits at scale.

Specialised stations could include the following types

Ore station

Fuel and charging station for larger vessels

Manufacturing level 1 and 2

Advanced manufacturing level 3

Restricted access manufacturing level 4

Munitions manufacturing

Weapons factory

Scrap grid centre

Used vessels lot

Shipyard

Energy farm - trading in full and used battery units

Additional specialised stations could be possible

Lumber Mill

Agri supplies

Research Academy

Having these specialised sites will add to the living world.

Background commercial activities will have a heart beat and have real economic consequences to the sector.

The players will have opportunity to trade at scale using larger vessels and larger operational systems.

With the specialised stations the player could concentrate their efforts and not try to be everything.
