vallis reach dropship mission

First attempt - rise up from under the platform. Grind through the mated connectors into the ship and take out the reactor = success

Second attempt - Thinking that I could steal the ship, I break in and turn off the gatlings and then saunter outside and grind the gatlings down storing the parts in a handy cargo container. Then I grind down all of the thrusters, again saving the parts. When they are all gone, the mission does not complete. Run inside and open a control panel and verify that the gatling turrets and the thrusters are all gone. Has anyone else seen this?

ive done this a few ways, only ever completing the mission when the reactor is no longer part of the grid.

i once used the ships never ending supply of fuel to do some exploration work, and replenish my own ships fuel supply.

if grinding down the either or block(s) that the contract instructs doesnt work, its worth repeating the task again, verifying which part(s) are the key block, i suspect its the reactor, and putting in a bug report that the wording needs to be fixed.

IMO reactor and battery should be key required components. if those arent gone, the ship is able to do stuff.

I used the dropship until it got trashed by a mission to build a turret, which caught me by surprise.

Realistically, I’d want to just take it for myself, and I wound up grinding it down and building another only to discover … it doesn’t work. The H2O2 generator isn’t connected to the ships cargo. I wound up moving the reactor and H2O2 to fix it.

Turns out the other ships that have only ion engines can’t fire the main engines without the reactor. You can drive them backwards though without the reactor.

ive got a heavily modified version of it myself. its a decent setup once all the systems are actually connected.
