I ran into a problem after completing the Vallis Reach phase. I was playing in pacifist mode and did not accept the contract that grants access to the gattling turret. I completed enough contact to advance to the 'Prosperity' phase and zoomed off to find the next station. There I discover contracts that require me to have unlocked gattling turrets and no way to unlock them.
Thus I assert that the contacts that you skipped over should remain available at the previous stations regardless of the colonization progression. The other approach would be to unlock the missed blocks as a part of the reward for achieving the next step in the progression.
I have to wonder if there are any datapads that are similarly bypassed by choosing the wrong series of contracts.

i mean... alternate contracts to get defensive blocks like gatling turrets. sure. i can imagine a scenario area that is subject to frequent meteor showers and needs multiple gatling turrets and ammo production capability for its saftey. passifist reason to have gats.
having multiple contracts for the same block unlock would be a good way to go about it, one requires direct confrontation, one requires "learning" about the systems you are getting the unlock for. these ones could be a more traditional space engineers style of block unlocks where grinding down defunct blocks to learn how they work so you can rebuild them for the contract.
i generally tend to avoid "fights" because (especially right now with no projector) repairing/rebuilding is hell.
so yes. more contracts, same blocks, and some way to remove the alternative path for the block across the contract network once you have already got it. same as the contracts being there for blocks when you play classic survival and already know how to make the blocks anyway.
