Contracts can be tricked

Some parts of the game are strict. The cockpit of the sledge cannot be removed or the walkthrough ends. The game has the cockpit linked to "contract" walkthrough. Another great part of the Sledge "contract" is that the game requires the ice to be placed into the original cargo container. If you add it to any other cargo location, then the game does not recognize that you placed 2k of ice into the Seldge. These are strict requirements keeping the walkthrough from being cheated.

The normal contracts are easily fooled still. If you're supposed to create components to repair a base, then you can simply remove those components from any medium cargo container anywhere in the world. If we were given large cargo containers sooner then we could do the same, simply adding the components to a large cargo container fulfills those objectives.

The same for repairs. You can build or grind down and repair the same blocks as the contract without going to the contract location. For example, the contract where you have to move 4 containers away from the base and then weld two large solar panels. You can simply activate the contract, go to your ship or starter base and add two solar panels to complete those two objectives.

Possible solutions that I've suggested in the past:

Perhaps the contract objectives could start once the player reaches the contract site.

Perhaps the contract objectives must be completed with 2K of the contract location.

is this still possible?

can i cheeze my way out of haul missions by putting 1t in a container then taking it out, then putting it back in? or does it all have to actually be in there at the same time? *edit* can confirm, i cannot just put items in, then take them out and they still count. ignore me. (contract to deliver military suplys from palatine station) *edit edit*, but i can still put all the stuff in, and sometimes pull it all back out.

No, the latest build is horribly strict. You are basically the only worker in the Universe who must supply the game with incredible amounts of ore to continue playing. These are contracts. The ore is delivered to a planet or space station. It's a bit glitchy. You can put ore and components into the 7.5m Delivery cargo container by transferring the items manually or by docking your ship and manually moving the items into this Delivery container. Sometimes you see what you transferred over, but most of the time it appears as if nothing happened and you may feel like the game just ripped you off. However, if you add the total amount asked for then it will take those items away and leave the extra quantity for you to transfer back to your ship.

Ctrl-Shift-Alt allows the transfer of any amount you type in, so it's easy to transfer the 250,000 or 150,000 ore into the container for the exact amount.

The game went from taking about 1 hour to get through the first to systems to about 12 hours depending on how well you create a drilling cargo ship. There's WAY too much ore in the game, ice is EVERYWHERE.

I'm currently looking for the contract to obtain the "sensor". I have one contract on Valation Station or the planet station that wants me to repair a lost base. The issue is that the base does not exist and its location is marked by a giant green block, just a few meters away from "Prospect Station" which appears to be a remanent from the previous version of the game. The contract may be worded incorrectly as every other "build this base" contract starts with the same giant green outline of a cube. I think I will go back and build the items in the list. The quality control is lacking, so I bet the wording is wrong, nothing to repair, just build from scratch and no "Lost Station" because it does not exist. The title is most likely wrong too. So, the title and description are for a contract, but the contract game code is for something to be built. I will try it tonight to see.

The progression is horrible. I think it will be a major turn off for new players. The game also sends notifications that it doesn't know what is taking so long and why I stop to mine and build things. It seems like they want the player to speed through the progression and not enjoy the actual Space Engineers style playing until after everything is colonized. Colonized means the game is a government and you're the only worker supplying it - lol

I literally had to build a base 7x20 of small cargo containers to hold everything before the 7.5m cargo container was allowed.

They seemed to have removed my favorite hydrogen thruster. We now have baby, small and larger no medium hydrogen thruster. The game also waits too long to provide ion thrusters. If I could change one thing it would be to give the large cargo container ASAP. You have to have like 24 medium cargo containers to hold half of the ore the contracts require.

Most of the time the NPC bases and sometimes the unknown signals are empty, no loot. You work your but off to take over a heavily armed enemy base for a contract and you end up with a pat on the back.

Oh, you can still use the NPC ships to move cargo to and from NPC connectors and your own ship/base. You cannot connect to any NPS connector with your own grid.

After you build a station for a contract you CAN grind it down and take everything back.

If you sit too long connected to the fast travel planetary station the game memory will leak horrible.

The right side of cargo containers cannot be accessed sometimes (very old bug), so if that happens just go to another port on the cargo container.

LOL, that reminds me, I had to have like 360 baby gyroscopes on my ship. They want us to collect 400,000 tons (or whatever it is) of ore and they don't give us a small gyro scope nor large cargo container??? When I finally received the next sized gyroscope, it was half the size of a 7.5m large cargo container...

yeah, sometimes it feels like we need to get to stations for specific tech progression that we are not directed to go to. so if you didnt know you need something that is only supplyed at the moon base, you are S.O.L.

in that way the current progression system is really rough. it does however FORCE you to explore a bit more and build a small fast ship just to get here there everywhere, or take more advantage of the fast travel system to get closer to specific locations... i think my next trick is use the fast travel from vallis reach to get a rover onto palatine.

Don't worry there is really 4 size of thruster. : 50cm, 2m, 2,5m... 7,5m!5a2317cf720f16fcf915646c2d68fb97

Using the ultra plates found in unknown signals and I think a few from a contract or two, it's possible to visit the stations to sell them 1 or 2 at a time once you get so far advanced. I'm now at a station where I was able to sell 3 at a time. The trick is to go through all of the fast travel stations to sell them. You then have millions in your account and can then purchase whatever you may need. Too bad there's no ships for sale.

I went back to the Lost Station that needed repairs. Located on the same asteroid as Prospector Station. It is as I thought, the contract name and description are wrong. Upon arrival it will tell what needs to be built. I did that and it completed. there's no lost station and nothing to repair.

I'm at a station in orbit around a moon now. All of the asteroids are overloaded with ice, uranium, silver, etc... Very little iron around, but tons of the good ore.

Some contract still be trickeable. the one where you should build 3 sattelite : i build just one, grinded it, rebuild on second place, re-grinded it, rebuilded on third place rereregrinded it.... mission complete.

cool. If you have a small ship <2000 PCU usually and it contains everything, or some of the things then if you fly it into the square it counts as you building those blocks. i.e.

Also, you can just build a connector for 600 PCU or conveyor adapters if you need to get the PCU higher for the contract requirements.
