Feature Request: Bring back multi-slot advanced comparison layout to SE2 Event Controllers

Beskrivning (Engelska):

I want to propose keeping the advanced, multi-slot functionality from the Space Engineers 1 Event Controller (as shown in my screenshot) for Space Engineers 2.

  • The Problem in SE2: The new controller forces all blocks into one single list. They must all share the exact same comparison value (e.g. everything must be "Off").
  • The Solution: Bring back the multi-tiered setup. We need separate slots within one controller so we can check if Block L4 = Off AND Locks 1-3 = On/Off at the same time.

Without this feature, players have to spam multiple Event Controllers and Timer Blocks, which wastes PCU and clutters the terminal grid list. Please restore this advanced logic capability!

Please note that the attached screenshot is photoshopped to illustrate my proposal. It shows a concept of how the new Space Engineers 2 interface could look if you merge the new design with the multi-slot, independent logic values from the original game.

The Problem in SE2

The current Space Engineers 2 Event Controller forces all selected blocks into a single flat list. This design choice imposes a major limitation:

  • Global Rules Only: You can only select one global condition for the entire block list. All blocks must share the exact same threshold, mode, and value.
  • Inefficiency: It is currently impossible to evaluate different states within a single controller (e.g., checking if Lock 1-3 are Equal To On while L4 is Equal To Off).
  • Grid Clutter: Players are forced to spam multiple Event Controllers and Timer Blocks just to achieve basic conditional logic, wasting PCU and filling the terminal grid list with redundant blocks.

The Proposed Solution (See Attached Mockup)

Restore the multi-tiered, independent slot setup from the original Space Engineers Event Controller, seamlessly adapted for the new SE2 user interface. As shown in the concept screenshot:

  • Independent Condition Slots: Allow a single Event Controller to hold multiple separate "Selected Blocks" sections.
  • Context-Aware Comparison Modes: Clicking the arrows on Comparison Mode rolls through all necessary operators depending on the block type:Equal To / Not Equal To (for binary states like On/Off, Open/Closed).Greater Than / Less Than (cycles into view for tracking tank levels, battery charge, or mechanical angles).
  • Dynamic Value Field:For binary components, the value toggles between Off / On (as shown in the mockup). For continuous components, the value field dynamically changes to a Percentage / Slider / Numerical Input once Greater/Less Than is selected.
  • Controller-Wide Evaluation: The overall Condition Mode (AND / OR) evaluates the combined outcomes of these separate slots to trigger the toolbar actions.

Why This Matters

  • Performance: Significantly reduces the total block count and PCU load on complex grids.
  • UX/UI: Keeps the terminal list clean, organized, and professional.
  • Gameplay: Preserves the deep, rewarding engineering automation that veteran players expect without overcomplicating the interface.
