Warheads too powerful
Not Enough Votes
I love that warheads are in the game now but even a small warhead will completly vapourize a small grid ship. I can't really enjoy the awsome destruction of this game when every ship is just disintegrated

I agree, and i think its because they work differently then in space engineers 1. (Done by testing in game)
In SE2 warheads create AOE effect which damages anything in a specific area. Damage cannot be stopped by armor in between, only distance matters (dmg fall off). Because of that 2.5 m warhead can destroy around 12.5m of heavy armor (in length) or if you surround it completely, 12.5m of h_armor in any direction (around 500 to 1000 blocks since its circular).
In SE1 warheads don't have the same property, as damage can be blocked by armor, even one layer of heavy armor is (barely) enough to dampen most damage from a large grid warhead.
This is because as stated by wiki.gg on explosions: "The explosion is volumetric for these and loses damage as it destroys blocks to get past until it runs out of damage."
The AOE solution is good for performance probably, since there is a lot less to calculate, but it results in worse game play (opinion),
If possible, maybe some explosions (mainly warheads) could be reverted to how they work in SE1?
