When exiting the cockpit of the survival campaign grasshopper sometimes puts me in unexpected locations, like on the other side of the roof of the farm or under a platform seemingly way too far away from the actual cockpit.

Occasionally when I press F to exit from the ship, I do not appear next to it as expected. Occasionally, I am several tens of meters away from the vehicle, as shown in the attached video. The first time this occurred, I fell off of the Outpost platform. Now I'm up high to mine ice, and I appeared in the dirt area behind the ship, when I landed well within the grassy terrain.
It does not happen every time, but it does happen.

I landed on a platform on Verdure, and it exited me far off the platform above a long drop to a painful stop since exiting also seemed to have turned my jetpack off. Sometimes up to 30m away.

In VS2.3, we have implemented a functionality that causes the Character to spawn exactly where the Cockpit / Control Seat was interacted with. What you described is the behavior before that fix. Please verify your Game files through Steam and try again.

I am experiencing the exact same issue on unmodded version 2.3.0.2793 with both the "Grasshopper" and "Buggy" cockpits when parked in or near the "Barn" during the Quickstart.

I have this on version 2.3.0.2798 and can replicate it fairly reliably.
Enter the cockpit at point where when you exit your body would intersect an object. When the game tries to work out where to put you, because it cannot put you back where you entered it tries to find a safe place to exit from the cockpit. Sometimes this can work out to be quite far away.
Video attached shows me doing it fairly successfully.
