Please add option to build immediately by placing components without a blueprint

Overall, I'm really liking the blueprint-first building system. It lets you plan things so much better than before, and for simpler builds sometimes completely removes the need to design them in Creative Mode first.

That said, I do miss being able to set up a bare bones base rapidly by placing down a bunch of blocks without welding them up. I would like to have a toggleable option to immediately lay down a block with its first component already built, provided that component is in my backpack. The extra step of having to weld after placing the blueprint takes a fair bit longer than in SE1, at least when you're using low-tier welders.

Or another alternative would be to add a HUGE / WIDE armor block that you can just put in 1 plate and have it started.

While nice, I would not consider that an alternate solution, no. My option lets you create whatever shape and size you want. Adding a single, large block to the game does not give that freedom.

That was more so for the base building comment not the entire post.

I actually agree with you, it would be nice to have a toggle maybe of projection building and / or direct building.

Or idk maybe add a backpack upgrade for direct building, but I dont want the projections to be removed.

Its very usefull to have in MOST scenarios.

I had a similar post, it got archived. Arron from Keen did reply to the post though. Though the blue ghost does have a place, I agree that it should be optional for construction.

I always found the rapid building of a skeleton in SE1 a bit cheaty. It can give you instant bridges and scaffolds with a fraction of the time and effort even a skeleton build should cost.

On the topic of the one big block, I guess we have to agree to disagree. I find the new structural 5x5x1 blocks in SE1 quite nice. Especially the version with built-in conveyors and a connector.
