You should have to fix/rebuild parts of Vallation station before fast travel.

I'm not to serious about this suggestion but I thought it would be cool if you had to rebuild parts of Vallation station before either contracts or fast travel. It would be best as a contract itself but it would justify the station being abandoned or give a reason for why you cant just fast travel out of the gate. Imagine building a device that acts as a gateway for fast travel and having that be the reason your able to leave. Then maybe you can have an upgrade path for the other stations so they can extend to other sectors.
Anyways just some thought.

With the Gateway device idea it should be unlockable around the last missions and allow you to make a gateway on your own, preferably on a fixed station.
