I really like the voxel-based resource yields. But IMO there kinda pointless because the hand drills easily guide you to the big deposits.

So my suggestion would be: disabling ore detection on hand drills to reinforce the importance of building an ore detector . It would also improve immersion, as once a player has already discovered an ore deposit, there is no need to be constantly reminded of its presence. (turn the detector of, create a gps to find it again, done)

Of Course at the same time, there should be an alternative early-game method for locating copper (which is needed to build an ore detector) without needing same one. The solution could be to include small amounts of copper to the voxel resource yields

That approach would also increase the need of building an early vehicle to put the the detector on, instead of speedrunexploring with the jetpack.

Otherwise. Good Job Keen.

Hmm I think both have merit, really.

If people prefer to fly away with the jet pack, that's their game. I find it more handy to have some storage space within a vehicle, personally, and 20 m/s gets old fast when a ship goes up to 300..!

Also, when there's no Iron/Nickel nearby, mining dirt/rock becomes handy. Silicon is tricky, as there's not sand everywhere.
