I found the following problem.
A vessel with mining drills, built today, behaves erratically during mining. Installing different types of gyroscopes does not help. A vessel with mining drills, built earlier, behaves stably during mining.
Version: 0.12.23.35
Description:]Drills behave differently depending on whether a ship was originally built as a free-floating grid or spawned from a platform blueprint.

Hello!
I observe this behavior now both in creative and survival modes.
In survival mode when mining vessel is welded from a blueprint attached to a static grid it shows the behavior described in the original post.
This essentially makes atmospheric mining vehicles unuseable as they have to be welded this way due to planet's gravity.
Therefore i think this ticket deserves prioritization.

I changed the number and location of the drills, but nothing changes.

Bug is still present. It's so powerful, that in tight places CLANG destroys the drill.
Temporary solution: place any heavy block as a new grid (or in space?), then attach bugged blueprint to it
(it remains non static), then you can remove that heavy block and save fixed blueprint (or just weld and use your welded miner).

When I attempt to add a Blueprint in space I can't even get the extension like you do when on the planet. I have to add the BP close enough to the base in space that the landing gear is almost touching the platform and weld that first. I have never used the building from the connector option.
