suggestion to replace the current mission rewards

I feel like the current mission rewards giving one to three blocks or block types at a time is very frustrating. I think a better system would be to have research points, technology points and such and let the players decide what to unlock based on a set cost for each block or block type. maybe have each block at first cost research points then every type after costs technology points. or some version of this. it would let players have more freedom and choice when doing mission rewards. could even add a monetary cost as well which would force players to either trade, complete side missions or pirate around.

To make it more immersive and open for later multiplayer the contracts could reward physical items instead of points - data cores, research materials, documentation which players can use to progress research and unlock blocks, give to faction members or trade them with other players.

Also these items could be then found as loot in random encounters, traded by NPCs or given by server admins as rewards in events and competitions.

or better yet have two different sets of missions. story missions which can generate based on current colonization, reputation and such which give research points and or technology points and a second set of missions which can give items, currency, reputation and make those the harder missions like "search and destroy" "protect this point" and so on while story missions can be "go to this facility and repair said parts" or "go hijack this specific ship or station" and have dialog on story missions

The Contracts Terminal has a reward hatch and also a conveyor port. I assume that those will play a role regarding rewards in the future.
