grinding sparks feel 'in my way"

So, I'm left eye dominant and when grinding (and when parts pop into inventory) it feels like there's a lot of clutter in the way of where I'm trying to look. Can the sparks be sent *down* and to the left instead? As for the inventory notification, perhaps in the center on the bottom above the shortcut keys.

Not only is it "in the way", it's also wrong: The grinder wheel would rotate in such a way that sparks would fly down/backwards(to the right). Sparks flying up and forward(and to the left) is wrong for anyone who has ever used a grinder.
