Options to Hide Safe Bubble

There should be world settings or a gameplay settings option, or even in game option for the safe zone bubble, to set its visibility.

A) leave it as it is.

B) Increase transparency until it's much less obvious.

C) Shut it off entirely (once we know the safe zone is at 500m from the object/base)

D) A version where it only appears if you pass through it. The appearance can be the whole circle briefly, or just an area of the circle around your ship.

I agree 100%! something needs to be done about the safe zone bubble. I was exploring the planet surface and looked up and saw the massive blue bubble in the sky, it was very immersion breaking. Maybe throw this over on the Space Engineers sub-reddit and try to get some votes on it.

I think they did it that way so people can find the station for now. But later on with a proper GPS/navigation system? The station GPS/Antenna could broadcast once you get far enough in the missions and the player should be able to adjust the visual without any issue.

I agree completely. It is essential to incorporate precise editing tools for these areas, either by integrating the features from the first part or by developing new ones with similar functionality. This is crucial because the current state significantly disrupts the atmosphere and immersion of the experience. Proper editing tools would greatly enhance user engagement and maintain the intended atmosphere.

Stuff like this could certainly be a thing for servers that want it, but it would have to be off by default because of interactions that can occur with the damage system. With how safe zone type stuff works, it's possible that in theory someone could approach one and not know it's there then come to a sudden explosive stop or get yeeted from it. By default it needs to be visible in some way, but I fully support individual servers having the ability to make it invisible if they choose.

Sorry in case my post wasn't clear, my post is meant to imply that these changes are both world settings and gameplay user settings, as I used both words. With per user settings the safe zone visibility would default to being on. And then the world settings would be set by the server owner and could apply to everyone (as the default) but the user could still override it.


And yeah one of the user settings is that you can make the bubble slightly more transparent and less pronounced. In fact if there was a slider to set it's transparency that would be ideal.
