Automatic braking ignores gravity in atmosphere

I’ve noticed a physics inconsistency in the ship’s behaviour. When the engines are in automatic alignment and braking mode during atmospheric flight (under planetary gravity), they operate as if the ship were in space-completely ignoring its mass and gravitational pull. This breaks realism: the ship moves unnaturally while the system tries to slow it down. However, when I disable automatic braking and manually control deceleration, the vessel properly follows the laws of physics and responds to gravity. This discrepancy is quite noticeable and likely bothers other players too.
