This would be pretty nice. As the current blocks are too large and forced my ship to become 5 blocks longer. I ended up using a medium gyro, the smallest reactor size, and the 4 slot battery. All of which takes up a ton of space forcing me to move the hydro tanks to the nacelles, and the medium hydro tank itself is 5 0.5 blocks longer than in SE1. Basically everything compounded into a problem forcing my ship to become 5-8 blocks longer.

That's fair, I wouldn't mind if this wasn't implemented solely based on that reasoning. As well the current size reactor in SE2 is actually considered small scale by our standards today. We may be able to get one that size eventually? but it could only power a house? Whereas the one in SE2 can power a whole lot more.
