I spent some good amount of time figuring out which thrusters are facing forward as there is no way to see it in control menu (and IMO there might be automatic groups for that as QoL feature) only to realize that you do not have a hotbar when in cockpit and no way to toggle those thrusters on/off without entering the control menu again. Not a big deal for now, but I'd expect even better system in future with possibly more fly related "software" than simply toggle thrusters on and off.

Yes, this is NEEDED! The first thing I noticed when flying was I couldn't turn off reverse thrust, and there is no way to manually add a group to a hotbar to set up a toggle manually. I assume ship hotbars will be added, but it would be helpful to have sooner than later.

That is exactly what Dampners do - with Dampners on the ship enables reverse thrust to slow you down when you stop accelerating forwards (i.e the W key) - With dampners off the ship doesn't try to reverse thrust.
The challenge is that applies to forward/reverse and up/down, so flying with dampners off in a planets gravity will mean the ship will not try to maintain a constant elevation.

This will enable a cruise mode whilst in gravity. Will save on fuel and finger fatigue on w key.

No hotbar yet. this will easily and already be done (without the use of dampener toggling) when hot bar is added, just like it always has been.

i seriously need safe speed cruise control
