Ladder pistons

This is an extending ladder like the ones used on fire trucks. It would use the 0.5m conveyor cargo transport, but with 2.5m long thin(0.5m) pistons. The ladder would extend as the piston expanded.

An engineer could either climb the ladder when extended or ride on it on the way up.

This would be ideal for large wheeled rovers where no jetpack options are used.

Extendable/retractable ladders and landing-gear would make so many designs so much better.

Also, allow ladders to extend through doors, tis currently a bit awkward in SE1 to have to climb up to a vertical platform in front of a belly/roof-access door on a ship.

Yes, some doors (hatch door) can be designed in a way so ladder can perfectly fit through and so engineer can climb though without bumping its head :)
