Stealing an NPC station - blocking all connectors and the door from other engineers
You can prevent other engineers from accessing connectors on a station by building a connector with a battery and timers. Set the timer to trigger immediately with a command to lock the connector. Tow it into place over a station's connector. This renders the auto-unlock on the station ineffective.
I have tested dislodging the connector by flying another ship against it and waiting for the unlock to trigger. It re-locks immediately so there seems to be no way to remove it.
An engineer could lock out everyone else in this way. You could also build it to have a second connector facing outward, allowing your own ship to dock. This would provide a free safe zone and permanent lock for your ships. You could also design the connector to have a long extension covering the station door, preventing others from accessing the station interior. The extension could have blocks on a rotor to make a door, granting you exclusive access to your new base.
Right. Staying inside a "SafeZone" schould cost credits after a certain amount of time. Let's say you (or your powered grid) stay in there for 10 Minutes then it will start to remove like 1000 credits for minute 11, 2500 for minute 12 and so on. So the price rises with every extended minute you stay in there. If you can't pay then you loose Reputation or get moved outside (or both?).

This is easily dealt with after the 15 minute disconnect time. just wait and bump their ship off. The timer locking system has been used for quite some time without issue. People resort to this strategy because ships take so much effort to build and zero effort to destroy by griefers, not to mention that having your own safe zone is costly and most people don't even use them.
Worst case scenario, you just go to a different station nearby that sells the same exact inventory rotations. Not really something to complain about, in my opinion.

So what if someone just makes a landing gear on a battery and parks it on top of the connector in the safe zone?
