[Public Test] Hydrogen engine don't fill until reload
Need More Information
This happens to the public test version.
Problem:
Whenever an O2/H2 generator is built on a grid with a hydrogen engine (which is also built after the last reload), the generator will not produce hydrogen to fill the engine.
The newly built engine will not pull gas from working generators from other grids (connected by connector)
The generators work fine otherwise. It can refill bottle and pressurize cockpit.
The only way we were able to fix it was to reload.
We are not 100% sure about the reproduction method of this bug, and we only tested it on small grids, but it did happen multiple times.
Environment:
On a player hosted server with two players.
Large grid is affected by this bug too. Only reload seems to fix it.

I found that if I turn the hydrogen engine off and on a couple times (more than once!) it started working as expected.

Still present in this week's test

To fix it i just turn the hole grid off then on and it almost always works

The Hydrogen engine is borked in the new test https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/947349010930372833/03F259571CF8B34B8AD33166EB8A8C49596D8A60/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/947349010930373050/E2991BF441758213593A02AA61734B386E1F8949/ This was with the O2/H2 Generator going hammer and tongs trying to refill the hydrogen engine but the engine not accepting the refill?. BTW while playing co-op with a friend I had the plantary LOD bug where the ground disappears several times and I had the maximum speed bug in my spacesuit except as well as going 110mps it was like I was doing it inside my space pod and ping ponging off the walls and ceiling? the 2nd playthrough test was much smoother than this one what have you lot changed that has brought back so many old bugs?

I just had a similar setup and once I placed a hydrogen tank, which I wanted to weld up later, the engine activated as it registered a H2-storage in the same grid. Previously it only pulled H2 from a connected rover, which then run empty (forgot to turn stockpile on, maybe recharge and discharge as for batteries would also be a good addition as H2 tanks literally function as an energy storage now). The Tanks wasn't connected or functional, its pure existence made the generator-engine-machinery work.
I experienced something similar on the said rover, it had an O2/H2-Generator connected to two Hydrogen Engines, it had some battery power for kickstarting to get the generator rolling to then use the H2 for the engines. The engines have an inbuilt capacity for H2, but fail to start unless a H2 tank (maybe even an unfinished) is in the grid.
From a programming perspective it makes sense (checking for an rescource capacity nearby to start the engine from the engines perspective and the generator looks for some tanks to output its gases). Maybe give the engine also the status of a tank, if possible, so it gets refilled by the generator.
However for the game logic it is possible to have a system of generators and engines set up and only feed ice (after a kickstart) as a power source, as one engine produces more power than a generator needs (can only argue that from the numbers in the control panel, I dont know how much kW/L a generator needs compared to what an engine ourputs in kW/L). Physically it should make sense, but these numbers might differ for balancing requirements.

Hi guys,
Thank you very much for your feedback. I was not able to reproduce the issue, Hydrogen Engine was filling up through the Connector correctly. Please, can you upload the world, where it is possible to reproduce the issue? Thank you :)

Need to wait until next week for the release, since I can't check which autosave it was that had this problem.
I was on Mars and built a small block rover which was connected to a powered large grid, by an advanced rotor. After disconnecting the rotor part I noticed this problem. The O2/H2 generator on the rover had plenty of ice and the small battery was charged. Reloading the save started the hydrogen engine instantly.

I have a save now which reproduces this.
If you build a hydrogen engine in survival it will be yellow when finished. After you power down the grid and back on, it will get green and start working. The same if you save the game while it's yellow and quit the game and reload. Then it will be green and work properly.
In this world you must complete the engine build with the welder. Then you will notice it's yellow. This bug doesn't occur after a load so the engine had to be unfinished.

This issue is still not fixed yet. It happened to me minutes ago in a new game:
Entire base is running fine, i have a full hydrogen tank, but the engine wont pull hydrogen until i reload the game.
