Players missing from Player List / Nameless

On very rare and unpredictable occasions, the client-side (default F3) player list will not add a player to the list correctly, leaving that player unlisted. This typically has no gameplay effect.
Once so far, this bug has excluded that player's name entirely, leading to their name not showing up at all in chat for the client (pictured), and also the complete absence of messages in the comms log (pictured). Other players on the server did not experience this bug.
In the pictured case, it occurred immediately after a restart, and when the player rejoined the bug did not happen again. However, the general issue does not consistently occur with restarts.
