When players leave an online server, the message that appears should identify them by their name, but instead reports "unknown" in yellow lettering.

The server I've been playing on is Keen Test #2 US. I've seen no player named "unknown" there. In addition the lettering is white when a player leaves and the message displays their name correctly. Yellow coloring is distinctly unusual.

I haven't coordinated with other players, so I have only assumed this error message occurs when a player leaves, but it's possible it may occur for some other reason, perhaps because a player loses connection or attempts to join and is rejected.

This is something that I have experienced for as long as I can remember. From what I can tell, it seems to affect mostly people that are not in your steam friends list. There is probably more to it than that, but hopefully that is enough to get you pointed in the right direction.

Server was US #2. Time is in the name of screenshot, 11:15 PM PST.

This issue (Player disconnected: unknown) - where unknown is written in yellow - has plagued me from the beginning, which would be around April 2019. I never see player names upon disconnect on any servers and when I ask other players they tell me they don't pay attention to the message or it may be to protect players' identities from people waiting for them to disconnect for an offline raid.

Probably helpful information: I have Steam integration disabled. This includes: logged out off Steam friends (aka offline), no Steam cloud, no Steam overlay.
