PCU limits and stability + rifle tweek
Currently the test servers are running really good. I think it should be viable to increase the PCU limit. For example double it. Lets see how they can handle it. At the moment its just bughunting.
On the other hand decreasing asteroid spawn and distributing ore better would be useful.
Now its too many random asteroid. No need for that much. Also sometimes cant find certain ores for days or weeks. (once it took me almost two week to find gold, i checked hundreds of asteroids by that time) But the other type is everywhere.
Also no need for that many trade station. Half the number or less would still work. There is not enough people to justify the trade station numbers.
Also making the safe zone on them bigger would be nice.
Making the rifle to only work in 100m or at least shorter than 800m is a must. Currently everyone can snipe down a gatling turret with a handgun. A giant cannon can shoot as far as a simple rifle?Tiering it would be even better so different type has different range.

@Keen, can you clarify what you mean by "ten times more than current live version?"
Our five person server is at 200k+ PCU usage. That's not a lot of players, so if you really want to see if the optimizations are working you might want to go up to at least 500k. I'm assuming larger servers hit that very quickly.

Oh, and to add to that, it would be great to have some ores spawn only in certain areas like you do with platinum and uranium. Right now there's not much of a reason to visit other planets, but if some planets were the only source of a certain resource, the player would have a motivation to travel there.

Our servers have over 1mil CPU, the biggest one has 1.5mil PCU. PCU limit on our server is set to per player, so when i'm talking about 10 times more, I'm comparing live servers (10k per player) with public test servers (66k/100k per player).

I have 3k hours in SE and can say - 60k PCU is more than enough.
At the moment I observe problems with sim speed on EU#3 test server. We have 0.6-0.7very often, even with 1-3 players online.
Rifle 100-200m range is a good idea. I agree that you shouldn't be able to shoot gatlings from long distance with simple rifle
