Inventory Sizes
Completed
Further to my bug report on the new block inventory sizes, I've been told that the inventory size setting now only affects the character. If this goes live as is, it could affect previous builds, rendering them inoperable and/or affect some people's gameplay.
Please consider having two settings for inventory: 1 for the player and 1 for blocks - that way everyone can choose their preferred split.
I am so, so happy they finally ditched the inventory multiplier for ships. Finally all ships made by everyone everywhere is fully usable on any server or host anywhere - as it should be, as well as being one less problem for game engine mass calculations and inventory management - and last but not least one less pain in the backside for us scripters trying to deal with inventory.
I vote no. I've wanted this since they added the multiplier in the first place - as what it is now in this update is what we actually asked for back then.

Hey all.
Inventory size of grids have been reduced to make game play more consistent overall between players and worlds.
But mostly to bring back a big part of game play that is resource management.
Previously, Default worlds settings were x10 inventory sizes. Many players never even bothered building beyond a large grid small container and limited inventory was simply not existing for them. This is not right.
Inventory management should be a big part of game play. Do you have too little space? then you should consider investing expanding your containers.
yes, this might actually delete a lot of items in player worlds but you have time to prepare, and after the update it will never happen again as it is consistent from now on. Note that infinite inventory of grids is also removed from creative world, meaning you can now correctly fill them without essential items being deleted when returning to survival mode.

Hi, Engineers!
We don't want to add multiplier back to Space Engineers based on the aforementioned comments in this thread, but we decided to change the size of the inventories for the next public test.
Please let us know if this is a good compromise.
Thanks!

i dont like it, some blocks do need an inventory buff, but not like this, a 3 or 5 fold inventory increase, with this there is no point removing the multiplier link at all!
assemblers, refineries, o2/h2 generators all of those need more inventory space, not cargo containers, and not by multiple orders of magnitude either.
