Hydrogen Engines

Not a Bug

The hydrogen engine did not work in the regular game, when not doing the scenario/tutorial. I did the lone survivor map, and they built, and just existed. When you go into the engine to insert ice, the item doesnt exist. I will attempt to record it and attach it to the file. I love the new sound muffing because of space. I apologize if the recording didnt load properly. first time recording in game play

Ok, this is a better explanation than your other hydrogen engines bug-topic.

I too built an large grid hydrogen engine. The grid on the moon it was attached to already had a battery, solarpanel x6 tower on a rotor, O2/H2 generator, survivalkit, basic refinery and basic assembler. There was also a small cargo module and connector on the other end. All were in-line with conveyor access. The O2/H2 generator has a cockpit on top.

The newly built hydrogen engine was built in normal orientation. It had the O2/H2 Generator right next to it on the side-conveyor access. Major power consumers in the grid were off so there was no lack of starting power. Only when I started to build a conveyor junction (single interior plates used to place it) to the bottom conveyor access of the engine (near the fan) did it come to life. I noticed the builtin hydrogen tank suddenly had 8 liters of H2 in it but did not fill up further. But the conveyor junction was not completely built yet. So this should not have triggered anything. I also noticed it only put out 2.5 MW instead of the 5 MW maximum. But in all honesty I don't know what the power demand of the grid amounted to at the time.

As far as I understand you should not be able to add inventory to the hydrogen engine. It only takes H2 from a tank or O2/H2 Generator, not a 'solid' item like ice.

[edit: Disregard my earlier paragraph (removed) about the hitbox of the engine being wrong. Other blocks were affected too. A save and reload of the game solved it.]
