GPS Usability and Naming and Sorting

GPS becomes more important now that we make deliveries or find something on time. Over time, all the coords from different planets start piling up, and I need to literally compare digits to tell if something named say "cobalt depo" is 5km or 5000km away.

So please let us sort GPS coordinates by name and linear distance.

On the pubtest server, when I respawn, is it on purpose that I lose the new faction store GPS coords that I previously copied from the datapad? If I wanted to suicide-farm coords, could I not manually copy these coords and simply keep them? In any case, I can keep all other coords after respawning, so, losing certain ones is annoying.

I also had several entries for "respawn pod". (If that means that the pod stays around for a bit so it can be salvaged, that's good.) But they all had the same name, and a number. Could you auto-name these coords after a human-readable timestamp (e.g. "moon-pod-20190726-125900"), so we can tell them apart? I could not rename them, all I could do is leave a comment in the description.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback

Obviously, being able to sort by distance means being able to see the distance to a marker on the GPS screen.

As we tag all astroids with their containing ores, it would be very handy to sort the list by distance.

Also a faction-GPS-list would be handy.

Necro'ing, but darn it, if the GPS system doesn't need an overhaul by now .. long overdue
